A Raven Folk New Year

A New Year unfolds before us, and there is so much to look forward to. In very little time, the fire that is Raven Folk United spread all over the States. The RFU now has a physical and spiritual life of its own with a national-hamingja and wyrd. We have a true purpose and we mean to serve that purpose: Men and women with families forming kindreds and tribes that honor our Gods, Ancestors, ethics and customs. Tribes in every region celebrating the Holy Days of the year so that they may have another year to do so. At home or at a distance, learning, growing and practicing the Northern Way. Folk helping each other both in times of need and when they succeed. Meeting others that are like-minded and on a similar path sharing frith. These and many other goals are already a reality. These are not pipe dreams. These things are all happening right now! Are you in contact with Folk in which you meet for dinner or blot on a regular basis? If not, let's change that. Contact us.
Raven Folk United, as an entity and as a whole, has a purpose, wyrd, so do each of its individual tribes, kindreds and members. We all have a purpose. I charge everyone in Raven Folk United to discover their purpose in life this year. Many of the people I see that are unhappy, nihilistic or have destructive behaviors have either lost or never really found their purpose in life. Having a sense of purpose makes all the difference in the world to your conscience and well-being. This is where you take on life's challenges and obstacles and use them as a way to hone your skills and overcome stressful situations all the while keeping high spirits. Having a sense of purpose makes life worth living, a reason to get up in the morning, a reason to build a family, a reason for our Folk to continue to exist and thrive. It's important that we connect with our purpose in order for a grand future of the coming generations of our Folk and families.
Some of us know what our purpose is and are living it now but many don't. Inner reflection is needed to find your answer. One may help you along the way but it's a deeply individual and personal inquiry. What are your hobbies and interests, what experience and skills do you have? Is it something that the Folk could use such as services or crafts? Do you enjoy researching things or making plans for events in your area? We need warriors and builders, farmers and Gothar. We need teachers and musicians. We need landowners and entrepreneurs. We need all of the talents our Folk can offer. "By the Folk for the Folk" in as many areas as possible. Find your purpose, work towards it and make it a reality!
As we move forward this year let's put our best foot forward, defeating all obstacles in our way and putting order to the forces of chaos that aim to hinder our progress through malefic and greedy means. Let's face it, we're not going anywhere and our future is bright. We see glory and victory on the horizon and we will see the day that it is ours! You cannot stop a force that eats, sweats and bleeds holy purpose. Not anymore! We are here to stay! The days of aimless action have come to an end! This is our Year! Raven Folk United, let's make 2024 legendary!
